Who we are and what we do.

Kuyahoora Valley Ambulance Corps is a hybrid volunteer/paid ambulance service staffed by your friends and neighbors. Our Volunteer Members have been trained as Paramedics, Critical Care Technicians, Emergency Medical Technicians, and Emergency Vehicle Operators and they stand ready to answer the call when their communities need it most. Kuyahoora staffs one ambulance from 6:00a.m. to 12:00a.m. daily with a paid crew typically consisting of an EMT and a Paramedic, and our Volunteer Members respond from home to staff our second ambulance when two calls go out simultaneously, or during the hours that there is no paid crew on duty. Kuyahoora covers a district encompassing over 700 square miles, covering the Towns of Russia, Newport, Norway, Ohio, Moorehouse, parts of Fairfield and Deerfield, and the Villages of Coldbrook, Poland, Newport & Middleville. We also provide interfacility transfers and mutual aid assistance to several hospitals and EMS agencies in Herkimer, Oneida, & Hamilton Counties. We currently operate 2 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances. Kuyahoora volunteers and paid staff are dedicated to providing our patients with the best emergency medical care possible. We are proud to be here for the community we call home. We serve to save since 1974!
